Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture becomes visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website may download and extract any location data from images on the site.

Cookies

If you leave a comment, you may opt‑in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These exist for your convenience so you do not need to re‑enter your details when leaving another comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we set several cookies to save your login information and screen display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor has visited the other website directly.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third‑party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

What personal data we collect

When you create an account on ScreenTimeLocker, we collect the information you provide during registration, such as your name, email address, and any optional profile details.

ScreenTimeLocker also allows users to store Screen Time passcodes, device passwords, or other sensitive codes. These items are:

  • submitted voluntarily by the user,
  • stored in encrypted form,
  • never visible to administrators in plain text,
  • never shared with third parties.

We do not collect Screen Time usage data from your devices, do not connect to your Apple ID, and do not access your iPhone or iPad in any way. All information you store is entered manually and remains under your control.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or stored codes with any third parties. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email as part of standard WordPress functionality.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow‑up comments automatically.

For registered users, we store the personal information provided in your user profile. You can see, edit, or delete your personal information at any time (except your username). Website administrators can also see and edit profile information, but cannot view encrypted codes in plain text.

Encrypted codes you store remain in your account until you delete them. When you delete your account, all associated encrypted data is permanently removed.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you may request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided. You may also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we are required to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

You may delete your stored codes at any time from your account dashboard.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Aside from this, your data is not transmitted to external services.

How we protect your data

We use encrypted storage for all sensitive codes and passwords you choose to save. These items cannot be viewed in plain text by administrators or other users. All communication with the website is protected by HTTPS encryption.

We do not use analytics, tracking scripts, advertising networks, or third‑party data processors beyond the basic services required for WordPress functionality.
